In case you missed the FDA recent press release a total of 5,274 pounds of Brach's Malted Milk Balls are being recalled due to presence of tree nuts or peanuts in a specific lot. check the link above for the most specific imforamtion not included in this post.
This is a safety measure for those who are allergic to tree nuts like Brazil nuts. They are packaged in 6 pound bulk packages of Brach's candies. For those who are allergic and bought this wonderful candy, YUM!, in a bulk bin this following quote is what is affected, " 6 pound, clear plastic package packed in a box marked with lot #20130418 on the side and with an expiration date of 04/17/14 stamped on the side. The product is intended to be sold to the consumer in bulk bins."
Unless a new recall is issued for undeclared nuts, probably an nut allergic person is safe when buying a big overpriced box of Malted Milk balls at the movie theater.
